We travelled as a family with my mother (senior 76yo) and Gboo Morocco planned our 13 day trip with minor customisation perfectly. Aissam is so much more than our driver. He is bursting with fun facts and information about the places we visited, places we passed by during our journeys and full of information to share about his country. We enjoyed his company as much as the wonderful places we visited. Gboo is very responsive during the planning stage of our trip and provided detailed information about the itinerary as well as what to prepare and expect for our first visit to Morocco. The suggested riads were beautiful, clean and comfortable which was great to retire to every night after a whole day of exploring. The vehicle was in good condition and comfortable for the long journeys across cities. Aissam took us to eat delicious local food where locals eat. At Merzouga, Aissam suprised us with performances on the gambiri rendering us with beautiful Gnaoua music. He's a rockstar! He was sensitive and caring towards my mom being more senior and that especially showed through during our Dades Valley walk where he helped her and accompanied her to navigate the rocky trails. I can't say enough good things about him, having a wonderful & fun driver can really make or break a trip's experience! A special mention to our local guide at Dades Valley, Esmaail too. Esmail was fun and knowledgeable throughout our half day walking exploration. Gboo arranged for a homecooked lunch by Esmaail's mother at their home. What a wonderful and warm experience. We really appreciated the opportunity. I highly recommend Gboo Morocco as your choiced local tour provider. Thank you Abdelhadi for the great experience of your beautiful country.
Thank you to Gboo, I had the most magical experience in Morroco. I asked them to customize our trip and they chose a great itinerary for us. We started from Marrakech and drove all the way up into the Atlas Mountains. Stayed there for a night and then went to the Sahara desert on camels. At first, the thought of spending the night in the desert was daunting, but when we reached our spot to watch the sunset, the splendor and the vastness of the desert awed us. It was totally magical. After spending a night in a beautiful tent, (the food could be better there), we had breakfast and then left for Fes and Rabat. Fez is beautiful, but people are not as friendly as they are in other parts of Morocco. The Berbers the Amazigh will win your hearts with their genuine desire to please tourists and treat them as God-sent guests.
I was looking for a spiritual experience in Fes but didn't find anything that uplifted my spirits into a trance.. but our guide and driver took me to the synagogue and Jewish quarters which was beautiful.
GBoo travels are the best but what made it amazing was our guide-Salim who is most knowledgeable about his country and heritage that it was a pleasure to go with him. We can't thank him enough and highly recommend him. Morocco is on my best places to visit list! I love it- for me, the best thing was to be in a Muslim country, not a rich first-world country, and find every public bathroom I used was super clean. I hope this sense of cleanliness comes to other countries!
You don't have to cover and you can pretty much wear what you wear in America- tourists can buy alcohol- and most people speak English- Uber is not reliable- I recommend calling GBoo for the amazing tours they have- all are Awesome!
Thanks Salim-
We decided to do a customised 10 days tour in a van. It is best way to fully experience the rich history and culture and sighting the magnificent mountains, valleys and kasbahs. Our driver, Mohamed was incredibly nice, accommodating and informative. He made sure we got enough toilet and food breaks throughout our daily dusk to dawn road trip from city to city. The Riads and Dars that we stayed are comfortable and spacious. Staff are warm and helpful. Can’t say enough positive things about this tour. It was worth every penny!
Wow! What a great adventure! We chose Gboo Tours because they specialize in private LGBTQ tours of Morocco. As a gay couple, we thought it would be best to book through a tour company to make sure we had no problems. Abdelhadi, the owner, talked us through all options and booked us with guides and in hotels/riads that were LGBTQ friendly. And it was true! Our driver for 12 days, Jalal, was amazing and funny! None of the lodgings batted an eye at two men asking for one bed. We never felt unsafe at any time on our tour. So on that alone, Gboo gets 5 stars!
Being 12 days, we never drove more than 5 hours a day (which is what we wanted). Our favorite was the overnight in the riad in the desert followed by a camel trek to the luxury camp. All the accommodations were luxurious and felt special. We stopped twice to see monkeys!
The only small criticism is that sometimes the local guides felt like they were taking us to touristy restaurants and places. One restaurant in Fez was so overpriced compared to everything else we at in Morocco.
But besides that! It was amazing! We learned so much about Morocco, the culture, the religion, and the people.
This was an awesome experience for me, my husband and friends. Abdelhadi was since the beginning very responsive and professional. We had Mohamed as a driver and he was profesional, cautious and very helpful, he drove us to all the places that we need to know. We had a guide in Marrakesh and Fez and both were very knowledgable about Morocco, they showed us the best places. We are very happy with the tour organization, the riads we stayed in and the transportation. Worth every penny and we recommend to go to Morocco with a tour like this so you don't have to worry about the accommodations and transportation.
Gboo Morocco Tours .....is
> TRUSTWORTHY - I canceled 2 years ago because of CoViD. I thought I'm gonna lose what I paid for but Abdelhadi (Gboo) kept his word. We had the tour as planned and I am very grateful for that. I, initially, dealt with a third party because I wanted to pay using my credit card. It's good that the 3rd party gave me details about the Tour Operator, Gboo Tours, because the 3rd party really didn't care about cancellations nor reimbursements. If I have to do it again, I would go straight to Gboo Tours because I know I'm in good hands.
> Customizable - the Tour/s are highly customizable depending on where you wanna go, activities you want to do (especially with drop off/pick up) and which hotels you wanna stay in. There are suggestions but you can do some tweaking. And depending on your budget, you can either stay in hotels or at charming Riads to give you that genuine Moroccan experience. I picked a really good one in Marrakech and I really enjoyed every inch of it ! Other suggested Riads in other places were also very nice, especially those in the Blue City and Fez. My travel companion also liked the one in Asilah, a more modern kind of Riad.
> Some extra - Gboo sent us some tips (need to know) before travel which is very well appreciated (voltage use, SIM card, info about Ramadan, exchange rate, use of cash, etc).
Also, extra things like a photo opp with "An argan tree full of goats !!!". I have traveled with bigger Tour companies and I don't think you'll get this opportunity, since they cater to bigger crowds. With Gboo Tours, it translated my "skepticism: goats on a tree, " into pure joy. The goats are like ornaments on a Christmas tree !
The overall experience is really very good. It's a trip of a lifetime ! Seeing the Sahara Desert in person is mesmerizing !!! Really different from just watching it in the movies. The Blue City of Chefchaouen is also a must see....it's captivating !!!
Again, thank you Gboo for making it happen !
Our driver abdullah picked us up on time from our hotel in Casablanca and drove us to Marakesh. He was so sweet and very knowledgeable and answered any questions we had. After arriving to Marakesh, we met with our tour guide Hamid. Hamid took us on a walking tour of the whole city including the Suk. He was very knowledgeable and very passionate about what he does. He gave us a great overview of the whole city. I highly recommend both abdullah and Hamid as they made our trip AMAZING and very memorable.
